weaseled their way into our hearts. Handsome Digipack design.13 rare recordings
that never made it onto a Handsome Family CD including odd covers,
intimate demos and orphaned songs. The CD cover is an old woodcut
of two starving orphans playing harp in the rain while rich men
ignore them and drink inside a warm building. Makes you want to
laugh and cry at the same time. The CD contains several covers
(Faraway Eyes, Banks of the Ohio, Knoxville Girl, Sunday Morning
Coming Down, I Hear a Sweet Voice Calling, Trail of Time) as well
as a few original songs (There's a City, Natalie Wood, Stupid
Bells), some strange instrumental pieces involving cello, prepared
piano, vocal harmony as well as early demos of some songs we've
already released (#1 Country Song, The Last, Down in the Ground).

LIVE CD: Digital Club Network (http://www.dcn.com/index.shtml) is about to release (early July) a recording of one of our shows at Schuba's Tavern in Chicago from December 8, 2000. There's a bunch of songs, a bunch of bickering and it sort of adds up to a pretty representative night with the Handsome Family. DCN is selling it a little cheaper than us so for the cost-conscious that's the place to order. However if you would like your order to contain fingerprints of actual Handsome Family members then you MUST order from our website. Well, you could come to our house and try to cut off our fingers. Brett usually is barely breathing in the mornings and his heart rate slows to something akin to a living death. That would be the perfect time to climb in the window with some garden shears. Be careful though: don't climb into the window that leads to the laboratory.
